World-class lifestyle

With a quality of life that is envied around the world and a stable business environment full of opportunity, New Zealand is the ideal destination for investors and entrepreneurs seeking new horizons.

Our investor-friendly immigration policies make it surprisingly easy to enjoy all we have to offer.

You can look forward to the best of both worlds - sophisticated living in one of our cosmopolitan urban centres together with easy access to some of the world's most stunning landscapes and lifestyle attractions.

Safe and secure

New Zealand is rated as the world’s fourth safest country to live in on the 2017 Global Peace Index.

New Zealand consistently rates among the world’s most peaceful and least corrupt countries.

While feeling safe is a luxury in many parts of the world, it's something people in New Zealand are accustomed to. Our strict border controls and relatively low crime levels mean safer communities, greater personal freedom and more peace of mind for you and your family.

  • We topped Transparency International’s 2017 Corruption Perception Index measuring the trustworthiness and good functioning of public institutions like the police and judiciary
  • We also ranked fourth on the 2017 Global Peace Index of safest countries to live in.

It’s easy to get away from crowds and relax in wide open spaces in New Zealand. To start with, we have only 16 people for every square kilometre compared to 33 in the USA, 253 in the UK and 337 in Japan.

Even in our cities, as advanced as you’ll find anywhere, life is less pressured. Our largest city, Auckland, ranked third in the 2016 Quality of Living survey conducted annually by global HR consultants Mercer.

Everywhere, New Zealand’s renowned natural beauty is easy to access. Over thirty percent of our country is protected park land offering fertile green countryside, majestic forests and snow-capped mountains, and nowhere is more than seventy-five miles (120km) from the ocean.

94% of new arrivals said they found Kiwi people ‘friendly’ or ‘very friendly’.

A very warm welcome

New Zealanders open their hearts to newcomers. Our Maori people have a saying “He aha te mea nui o te ao. He tangata, he tangata, he tangata” which translates to “What is the most important thing in the world? The people, the people, the people.”

Our warmth and hospitality are a product of our size. Living on the edge of the world as we do, it’s second nature for New Zealanders to reach out and make connections.

It's not surprising then that Immigration New Zealand surveys have found nine out of ten migrants find the welcome they receive meets or exceeds their expectations.

Healthcare in New Zealand

Getting seen by a doctor is usually easy, and New Zealand offers heavily-subsidised healthcare for residents and some work visa holders. Non-residents can also use healthcare services at a cost.
