Finding work

If you’re thinking of coming to New Zealand to work for a few years, or maybe even to settle, you’ll need a work or resident visa. To get that – you’re likely to need a job.

Job vacancies haven’t quite regained pre-global crash levels, but they’re are at their highest since mid 2008. Unemployment was down to 6.2% by September 2013, well below the OECD overall average of 7.9%. And business confidence is at a 20-year high. Being overseas isn’t a major handicap if you’re looking for work in New Zealand.
