Is this visa right for me?

The answer is yes, if:

You are considered as having exceptional talent and can show you:
Have an international reputation and record of excellence in your field
You are still prominent in your field
Your sponsor can demonstrate you will enhance the quality of New Zealand’s accomplishments in your declared field

Does this visa lead to becoming a resident?

Yes it can. After living and working in New Zealand for at least two years, you’ll be eligible to apply for a resident visa - under the Residence from Work Category for holders of Talent (Arts, Culture and Sports) work visas.

Do I need a job offer to qualify for this visa?

You need to be sponsored by a New Zealand organisation of national repute in your field.

How do I know if the organisation sponsoring me is of ‘national repute’?

If the organisation sponsoring you has a record in New Zealand of excellence in your chosen field, or if they are recognised for fostering exceptional talent in your field.
