Talent (Arts, Culture and Sports)

If you have exceptional talent in the arts, culture or sport, this is the best work visa for you

Combine your exceptional talent with the sponsorship of a New Zealand organisation with a national reputation in your field of arts, sport or culture – and you will meet the basic requirements for a Talent (Arts, Culture and Sport) Work to Residence visa. This visa will be granted for 30 months.

Is this visa right for me?

The answer is yes, if:

  • You are considered as having exceptional talent and can show you:
  • Have an international reputation and record of excellence in your field
  • You are still prominent in your field
  • Your sponsor can demonstrate you will enhance the quality of New Zealand’s accomplishments in your declared field

Does this visa lead to becoming a resident?

Yes it can.  After living and working in New Zealand for at least two years, you’ll be eligible to apply for a resident visa - under the Residence from Work Category for holders of Talent (Arts, Culture and Sports) work visas.

Do I need a job offer to qualify for this visa?

You need to be sponsored by a New Zealand organisation of national repute in your field. 

How do I know if the organisation sponsoring me is of ‘national repute’?

If the organisation sponsoring you has a record in New Zealand of excellence in your chosen field, or if they are recognised for fostering exceptional talent in your field.

Are there any age restictions for this visa policy?

You must be under the age of 55 to apply for the Talent (Arts, Culture and Sport) Work to Residence visa.
