Working Holiday Applications

To be granted a Working Holiday visa, you have to apply.  Because this is a fairly straightforward visa, you have the option of applying on-line, or downloading the application  to mail or present in person at an Immigration New Zealand branch near you.

FAQs

In addition to my completed application, what else will you need from me?

Several things:

  • A passport valid for at least three months after your intended departure from New Zealand
  • a return ticket, or sufficient funds to pay for one
  • 1 passport-sized photo less than 6 months old
  • Submit a chest x-ray less than 3 months old or other health and character documents if required
  • Payment

How much will this application cost?
$NZ120.  For some countries, the fee is waived.  To find out more, ask your nearest New Zealand consul, or check out the fee finder online.  And if you apply through organisations such as BUNAC, they may have their own fee structure.

Will I need a medical certificate?
You’ll need a chest x-ray taken within 3 months of application if you don’t meet the requirements that establish a low risk factor for TB.  There are some countries that do require medical certificates.  To find out more about the health requirements, click here.

How long will it take to be approved for this visa?
Providing you have all your paperwork in order, you should know within two weeks whether your application has been approved.  You may be asked to produce your travel tickets.

To find out more check out the section of the website specially dedicated to working holidaymakers.
