Mental Healthcare

Personal help and mental health services

Generally, mental health care is provided by public hospitals, but some community-based services are also available.

Private counselling services are also available but these are generally not subsidised and costs must be met in school.

A GP (family doctor) will usually be able to recommend suitable counselling services, including assistance for child behavioural problems, eating disorders, alcohol or drug abuse, stress and depression.
