FAQs

Is this visa right for me?

The answer is yes, if:

  • You have a job offer for full-time employment for a period of at least 24 months
  • Your offer of employment is in an occupation included on the Long Term Skill Shortage List (PDF, 157 KB)
  • You have the experience and training to match.

What resident visa does this correlate with?

Once you are here, if you decide you want to apply for residence, you can apply under the Skilled Migrant Category.  Or, once you have been in the position for two years, you may be eligible under the Residence from Work LTSSL category.

Do I need a job offer to qualify for this visa?

Yes.

Are there any age restrictions for this visa?

No.  But if you intend to apply for a resident visa you should be under 53 years of age when you apply for the work visa. This is because you have to be under 56 years to be eligible for a resident visa after two years.
