Long Term Business Visa Applications

To be granted any visa, you have to apply.  If you meet the requirements and are ready to apply for residence, you will need to complete and submit your application directly to the Business Migration Branch.

FAQs

In addition to my completed application, what else will you need from me?
Several things:

  • a passport valid for at least three months after your intended departure from New Zealand
  • 2 passport-sized photos less than 6 months old
  • a complete business plan that is:
    • not less than 3 months old on the date you make your application
    • includes evidence you have sufficient capital to finance your business proposal
    • includes realistic financial forecasts
    • demonstrates you understand the NZ business environment
    • includes how your proposed business will benefit New Zealand
  • evidence of your own relevant business experience
  • medicals and x-rays completed within 3 months of submission
  • police certificates from your country of citizenship as well as from any country in which you have lived 5 years or more since age 17 completed within 6 months before submission
  • IELTS certificate (if necessary)
  • payment

What about English language requirements?
If English is your first language, you will just need to show that you come from an English-speaking background. Otherwise, you will need a certificate from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of at least Level 4. And anyone included on your application will need to take English tuition if they don’t already have a minimum level of English.

How long will it take to be approved for this visa?

Providing you have all your paperwork in order, you will be assigned a business immigration specialist to assess your business proposal.  All applications under this category are given priority processing.
