How to use these shortcut keys

hold down the ALT key and then one of the keys below :

[  - Bypass the navigation and go to the main content of the current page
0 - Access keys (this page)
1 - Home page

3 - Search
9 - Contact us

Note: On Windows with Internet Explorer, press ALT + an access key then press Enter.
If using Firefox on Windows, press SHIFT + ALT + an accesskey.
If you are using a Macintosh, press Ctrl + an access key.

The "Skip to content" link allows users to skip past navigation links to the main content for the page.


Accessibility

Turning off style sheets

Newzealandnow.govt.nz is aware that some users may experience contrast issues. We suggest turning off style sheets in your browser to see a text-only version of this site.

How to turn off style sheets

IE: Tools > Internet options > Accessibility

Firefox: View > Page style > No style

Opera: View > Style > User mode

Safari (Mac): No option available

Google Chrome: No option available
 

Change text sizes

You may be able to increase the size of the text on screen.

Internet Explorer 5.5+

Select the 'View' menu, then 'Text Size', and then your chosen size (or if you have a mouse wheel simply hold down CTRL and roll the mouse wheel to alter the text size).

Firefox 1.0+

Select the 'View' menu, then 'Text Size', and then select decrease or increase. Alternatively select CTRL + + or CTRL + -. If you have a mouse wheel, simply hold down CTRL and roll the mouse wheel to alter the text size.

Opera 7.0+

Select the 'View' menu, then 'Zoom', and then select the percentage increase or decrease you require. Alternatively select CTRL + + or CTRL + -.

Safari 1.2+ (Mac)

Select the 'View' menu, then 'Make Text Bigger' or 'Make Text Smaller'. Alternatively select ⌘ + + or ⌘ + -

Google Chrome 1.0+

Select the page menu at the top right, then 'Zoom', then 'Larger' or 'Smaller'. Alternatively select CTRL + + or CTRL + -. If you have a mouse wheel, simply hold down CTRL and roll the mouse wheel to alter the text size.
 

How to enable JavaScript

JavaScript is required for completion of our online registration form.   If you wish to register online, please turn on Javascript using one of the following option.

Internet Explorer 6.0+

Click the Tools menu, then select Internet Options.
Click the Security tab, then click the Custom Level button.
Scroll down until you see the 'Scripting' section.   Select the 'Enable' radio button for 'Active Scripting.'   Click the OK button.
If you see a confirmation window, click the Yes button.

Firefox 3.6+

Click the Tools menu, then select Options.
Click the Content tab.   Select the 'Enable JavaScript' checkbox.  Click the OK button.

Safari 2 or 3

Click the Safari menu, then select Preferences.
Click the Security tab.  Select the 'Enable JavaScript' checkbox.
 

PDF Reader

Download a Portable Document Format (PDF) reader from the Adobe website.

If you can't download the PDF file and want to order a hard copy of one of our forms or guides, you can email us if you are in New Zealand.  If you are outside New Zealand, contact your nearest Immigration New Zealand office. Include your name, address, and the forms and guides you require.
